TAIPEI, Taiwan - To implement the cultivation of high-level talents and promote the development of the wind power industry, the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre(MIRDC) signed a memorandum of cooperation with Daye University. The two parties will share offshore wind power-related teachers and resources and strengthen the Industry-Academic cooperation relationship.
Offshore wind power is an important green energy policy of the Taiwan government. It is estimated that the demand for offshore wind power talent will reach more than 5,500 by 2025.
The CEO of MIRDC Lin Qiufeng said that the center assists the Energy Bureau in setting up a world-class training base for marine technology talents and an innovative R&D base in the marine industry. And they also introduce professional training courses to enable young students to understand the current status and work content of the offshore wind power industry. Prepare in advance during the semester to develop the necessary skills. After graduating, they will quickly become a talent required by the industry.
Vice President Shi Yinglong of Daye University pointed out that Daye University actively promotes industry-academia cooperation and cultivates talents for society and enterprises. Last year, the “Offshore Wind Power Apprenticeship Program” with Orsted from Denmark was the first in Taiwan to implement the local industry-academia cooperation plan. The MIRDC has the GWO certification training ground instructors for entering the wind power industry.
He believed that combining the three parties of production, education, and research will allow Daye University students in wind power courses to not only successfully obtain GWO professional licenses, implement unity of learning and use, but also allow companies to find outstanding talents that are suitable and applicable.
