TAIPEI, Taiwan – In a short period of time after exhibiting in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, WiseChip Semiconductor, a professional manufacturer of PMOLED display based in Taiwan, had made another technology breakthrough and is going to head to Electronica 2016 in Munich, Germany, to showcase its latest transparent and flexible PMOLED Products including an upgraded version of flexible PMOLED display for wearables for the first time.
WiseChip is the world's second largest PMOLED display panel supplier with more than 10 years of PMOLED production and design experience, currently it has two 2.5 generation PMOLED plants in Taiwan and expanding soon.
At Electronica 2016, WiseChip will showcase its complete PMOLED display solutions covering Standard products in a variety of sizes and colors for home appliances and consumer electronics, flexible display panels for wearable devices, and its TOLED (Transparent PMOLED ) that can be applied to the automotive Head-up Display(HUD).
According to WiseChip, PMOLED panel can provide better display quality and simpler product structure of HUD compare with the traditional HUDs. And the company will exhibit a new HUD product with 4.1-inch transparent PMOLED panel, which has more than 65 degrees of transparency and brightness greater than 3000nits.
In addition to the TOLED products for HUD, WiseChip will debut its latest version of flexible display panel at Electronica 2016, which has a curvature of 40mm and the resolution of 256 x 60 pixels, is an ideal solution for smart bracelets and smartwatches.
With its advantages of low power consumption, thinner thickness and flexible ability, PMOLED has become an idea display solution of wearable devices. Compare with AMOLED technology, the PMOLED is restricted in resolution and size though, but it has its own strong points in terms of lower manufacturing cost and more easily customized feature, and that give PMOLED to have more possibilities to use in different areas.
