Holtek announced the release of its new TinyPower ultra low quiescent current low dropout regulator series, the HT73xx-7. This new series forms an extension to the already released HT73xx-1/-2/-3 device series.
In comparison with the HT73xx-1/-2/-3 device series the 30V input voltage is retained, however these new HT73xx-7 series now include an ultra-low quiescent current of 2.5μA and a maximum output current value of 250mA. With an output voltage accuracy of ±2%, the HT73xx-7 series also provides over current and over temperature protection.
The devices include a chip enable pin, which when low, will reduce the current consumption to a typical value of 0.1μA. With their additional internal output fast discharge function these new regulator devices are sure to open up new application possibilities.
The HT73xx-7 series devices can be used in a diverse range of portable and other applications which require high output voltage accuracy such as backlight power supplies, wireless communication power supplies, smart meters, electric tools, smart security devices, measuring instrumentation and medical products etc.
