TAIPEI, Taiwan - The American processor and graphics chipsets supplier, AMD, announced to revise down its Financial Results Forecast for the Q2 of 2015, since the decreased semi-custom Chip demand and business orders. It means that the video game market is expected to slump and the related influence on Taiwan’s supply chain.
AMD, the primary producer for graphics chipsets, provides semi-custom Chip of graphic technology used for Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox, and AMD still plays a vital role in PC market. Therefore, the declined Financial Results Forecast will be possible to affect both the video game and PC market.
Most of the motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, such as Taiwan-based Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and Tul, will face the pressure of diminishing business. TSMC and ASE, foundries and packaging industry, will likely confront the decling orders.
Taiwan’s PC OEM factories, including Quanta, Compal and Wistron, did not convey optimistic information for PC market in 2015 in an earlier comment. The all change their expectations and anticipate future output volume to be lower than expected.
