TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taipei City and French innovation company, Morphosense, are collaborating to introduce the monitoring technology used on the Eiffel Tower to the Shezi Bridge. The deployment of the “Shezi Bridge Structural Monitoring Verification System” structural monitoring system began in June in order to remotely collect data and provide real-time warnings and notifications.
The testing content includes the installation of structural monitoring sensors as well as real-time measurement of 3D geometric deformation of the bridge and triaxial structural vibrations. Furthermore, traffic data collected through image recognition in combination with algorithms for monitoring the bridge structure can be utilized to target disaster prevention monitoring and acheive smart security.
Department of Information Technology Commissioner Hsin-Ke LU believes that through this collaboration between Taiwan and France, an interactive channel for the international exchange of technology can be created which will also popularize technological applications such as IoT and AI. Moreover, in addition to this collaboration, the Department of Information Technology will also continue to open up the field of verification and introduce smart technologies into real-life situations.
