TAIPEI, Taiwan - Seedstars World Taipei (SSW Taipei) was held in Taipei, Taiwan on Nov. 18, with 10 startups competing for the finals which will be held in Switzerland. And the winner of the contest was GliaCloud, a Taiwanese startup, it will head to Switzerland for the final.
Seedstars World is a Switzerland based startup competition that takes place in emerging markets. And Seedstars World Taipei was hosted by Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry(III), this year is third year of this event in Taiwan.
The top 10 of SSW Taipei this year were: ChaseWind, a smart sports glasses; U-Gym Technology, a smart mobile electrotherapy; DOThink Infinity; HelloWings, a low cost flight tickets search engine; Alchema, a smart wine maker; Gliastudio, an artificial intelligence video production patform; PicSee, a sharing thumbnail tool; Compose AI, an artificial intelligence interlocution assistant; FunNow; and InforCharge, a wireless charging tool.
Katarina Szulenyiova, Asia Manager of Seedstars World, said that SSW has only been in Taiwan for three years and has been accumulated over 100 new startup teams, due to the well-established entrepreneurial incubation environment and active entrepreneurial community link of Taiwan.
Cai Yichang, deputy director of Digital Education Institute of III, said that Taiwan's 4G network is developing rapidly, which enabling new startups to expand their business. And the III all along supports young entrepreneurs to promote the local internet applications and industries. And Seedstars World focuses on guiding startups to enter the international emerging markets, which can strengthen startups to seizing the opportunities of entering international market.
