TAIPEI, Taiwan - Samsung’s newest flagship Galaxy Note7 has hit the market in Taiwan, and within twenty-four hours of going on sale 20,000 units were sold.
The Galaxy Note7 on last Friday at 3:00 went on sale on Samsung’s official website for a limited wave of presales that crashed the server once. Soon after it was fixed and presales resumed, the limited quantity of 20,000 units rapidly sold out. The Taiwanese consumers favored the golden colored units, which accounted for nearly 50% of the purchases. The silver and black colored units each accounted for approximately 25% of purchases.
Taiwan Samsung last Friday (August 5) held a press conference for the Galaxy Note 7 and invited carriers and distributors in Taiwan as well as VIP Samsung members to be the first to experience the product. They also announced that pre-sales had commenced and over half of the units had already sold out.
Taiwan Samsung is optimistic that the Galaxy Note 7 will become the fastest selling model in the Note product line, and they have increased their sales target by 20%.
Samsung Taiwan President Lee Jaeyub stated that their goal is for the Galaxy Note 7 to become the most popular flagship cellphone of 2016.
