TAIPEI, Taiwan - The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) at the 2016 Taiwan International Lighting Show exhibited several types of innovative OLED and LED smart lighting applications, including OLED automobile lighting, LED smart hospital lighting, PCOLED technology, and LED commercial photography.
ITRI and Electronics and Optoelectronic System Research Laboratories General Director Chih-I Wu pointed out that LED lighting and OLED lighting both fit into the category of solid state lighting. Currently international LED manufacturers are developing LED lighting products and smart hospital applications, and they view OLED lighting as a new lighting source for the next generation.
He pointed out that with the rapid rise of the smart city, ITIR will strive to launch innovative LED and OLED applications. Hopefully they will be able to create diverse smart lighting values and upgrade Taiwan’s LED and OLED lighting technology in order to satisfy market demands and create a living environment with better lighting for everyone.
In addition, TRI's Industrial Economics and. Knowledge Center (IEK) believes that although that the scope of the OLED lighting market did not reach US$100 million in 2015, with the popularization of flexible OLED lighting and the entrance of automobile applications, in 2016 the OLED lighting market is expected to experience relatively strong growth.
