TAIPEI, Taiwan - Microsoft Taiwan and Changhua County Government in Taiwan yesterday announced a joint “Cloud Technology Education” plan. Approximately 120,000 students at Changhua County high schools, junior high schools, and elementary schools are expected to have the opportunity to earn Microsoft's online Office 365 services, Technology Associate (MTA), and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) international certificates.
This program includes the “Microsoft High School Student Ambassador Program” and “Microsoft Cloud Future School Plan” and will provide Office 365 online cloud services to all K12 schools' students and teaching and administrative staff in the county with the opportunity to use software and obtain the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) international certificates.
“In order to respond to the needs of the IoT generation and education technology labor power, Changhua County Government and Microsoft will jointly promote the “Cloud Technology Education” plan. By introducing assistance from Microsoft's technological resources and professional team, we can take a step further in the implementation of new education which includes plans for changing education concepts, reforming education models, and designing educational spaces,” said Changhua County Magistrate Wei Ming-gu
Microsoft Vice President of Public Sector Asia Stefan Sjostrom stated “The 'Microsoft Cloud Future Education Plan mainly develops the unlimited potential of hands-on education in young people. I anticipate introducing “Topic Guided Teaching” to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and encourage students to actively learn. Using the resources of Microsoft's technological tools and research and development capacities, teachers and students will be provided with innovative cloud curriculum which will cultivate their abilities to manage information.”
