Holtek has announced today that they are collaborating with Semtech Corporation to develop a new smart fire alarm module integrated with Semtech’s LoRa devices and wireless RF technology (LoRa Technology) and leveraging LoRaWAN, the open protocol.
At Holtek’s 2017 New Product Presentation from Oct. 12 – Nov. 2, Holtek will demonstrate its long distance smoke detector alarm SIP module. The smart fire alarm module integrated with Semtech’s LoRa Technology and Holtek’s new smoke detector MCU will include both an alarm as well as a master controller.
The master controller uses a Holtek M0+ MCU monitor smoke detectors while LoRa Technology implements long distance communication. When a fire is detected by one smoke detector alarm it will communicate with the other smoke detector alarms in a smart building in order to improve public safety in a fire. The product is expected to be released in China by mid-2018.
