TAIPEI, Taiwan — According to Consumer Protection Committee (CPC), Executive Yuan, Lenovo is recalling of the ThinkPad notebook computer because of a problem of overheating on a battery, including ThinkPad series X201, X201s, and Edge 13, battery numbers P/N 43R9255, 51J0500, 57Y4186, 57Y4564, 57Y4565, 57Y4625, 57Y4559, 43R9254, and 0A36277.
Lenovo, which has shipped 2,137 of the computers and batteries in Taiwan, identified two cases in the US, which the battery overheated. However, Lenovo first recalled the above computers and batteries on March 27, 2013, but has had only recalled 1.78 percent.
CPC strogly urges ThinkPad users to check the product at once, if it's been manufactured from October 2010 to April 2011. Including ThinkPad series X201, X201s, and Edge 13, battery numbers P/N 43R9255, 51J0500, 57Y4186, 57Y4564, 57Y4565, 57Y4625, 57Y4559, 43R9254, and 0A36277. If so, call 02-87615988 to dispose the overheating lithium battery, or to register at www.lenovo.com/batteryprogram2014 to get a new set of battery.
