TAIPEI, Taiwan - COMPUTEX 2019 wrapped up on June 1. According to statistics from organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the five-day exhibition attracted 42,495 international buyers from 171 countries, which was a 0.5% increase from 2018. In addition, the InnoVEX exhibition area attracted 18,251 participants, which represented an impressive growth of over 3%.
Since the decline of the traditional PC market, the status and momentum of the COMPUTEX exhibition has been constantly challenged. However, the rise of emerging smart applications has brought about a new wave of momentum to the PC industry, and innovations such as AI, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 and new human-machine interfaces have given computer applications a new lease on life and breathed new life into COMPUTEX.
It is worth noting that following the expansion of InnoVEX, exhibition areas were added for a number of countries. This not only brought in a significant number of international visitors but also brought in young exhibitors and visitors.
These new visitors were both young and had very novel product applications and ideas about the market which were completely unlike those found in traditional companies. Moreover, it seems likely that in the future world these small and beautiful new startups will be the most prominent companies.
In terms of international buyers, TAITRA pointed out that the top ten countries/regions for buyers was Mainland China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, and India.
