TAIPEI, Taiwan - Microsoft has announced the cancellation of the license fee of Windows Phone and tablet which under 9 inches on Wednesday, which was acclaimed by Taiwan PC company Acer and Asus.
Microsoft announced this cancellation at its annual developers conference in San Francisco. Acer and Asus said this new step will help to low the price and enhance the penetration of the PC.
Acer said the cancellation of licensing fee will reduce the cost of manufacturing, help increase the penetration of mobile and tablet, is a positive message to industry；Asus said that it is beneficial for industry, consumers are the biggest winner.
Industry sources said, Microsoft waived the entitlement for fighting for the market share with Android camp. Products currently on the market have been paid, is expected that the price of product will begin to fall in May. In Tablet PC, the price reduction is between approximately NT $ 600 to $ 800.
