TAIPEI, Taiwan - The Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), and GE Gas Power Company held an MOU signing Ceremony in maintenance localization and hybrid hydrogen power generation applications of gas turbine generator set cooperation. Hu Kai-hong, Chairman of AIDC, and Ramesh Singaram, President of GE Gas Power Asia on behalf of the two side signing respectively. Meanwhile, Taiwan's Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-Hua and U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce Venkataraman was co-witness.

In response to the global carbon reduction trend, Taiwan's Economic Affairs has formed a hydrogen power working group to help the industry to understand hydrogen power and related markets, and assist Taiwan to establish hydrogen technology and develop a new economy of hydrogen power.

AIDC reacts to the Taiwan government’s policy to sign the cooperation MOU with GE for aero-derivative gas turbine generator sets enhancing their partnership. In addition, to continuously expand the existing aero-derivative gas turbine generator business, they further established maintenance localization to shorten the time of maintenance and improve the autonomy of gas power generation to secure the key role of the global supply chain of Taiwan.

Besides, AIDC and GE will work together to develop a gas-hydrogen hybrid unit with a maximum hydrogen content of 85%, which will greatly reduce carbon usage and achieve the goal of net zero emissions.
